hi - i have recently purchased a 57 plate 325d m sport with auto gearbox smile

it's a lovely car - leather seats and interior finished with aluminium highlights and just pushing 48k miles on the clock (and that's with me adding 1k in the sapce of 4 weeks)

i must say that i do enjoy driving it - it handles well and the acceleration from x when you put your foot down to 3000 revs is pretty tasty smile

tho i have a couple of questions for other 325d m sport auto owners:

1. do you know at what speed (roughly) 6th gear kicks in - it seems to be about 75mph - so hovering around that speed really affects the mpg as the car doesn't seem to change up for you & you have to take it above 75mph to 80mph to get the gear change - only a minor niggle i suppose

2. also i can take it up to 95 very easily in sport mode - and not that you should want to push on from there - but not sure how do you acheive 140 mph in it unless very gradually... unless take it to 95 and then put it in sport mode from there i guess

3. is it possible for a BMW garage to perform an engine remap to get the same output as a 330d? they are essentially the same 3 litre engine right? has anyone here paid for such an engine mod? thoughts?

no disrespect to the 325d but have decided that car engines are a bit like flat screen tellys - in that once you've gone for a 40" you keep thinking that you should have gone for a 50" - lol

anyway once this car is paid off i think i am going to get a 335d as i think this will give the extra performance i am looking for (as i don't think the mrs will allow an M3 - lol)

great car tho for my 1st BMW i must say smile

Hello mate.

The injectors, turbo, fuel pump etc are all different.
