I've had my first Elise for about 6 months and love it. Unfortunately however there is one annoying problem - the boot seems to let in water. A small circle of carpet in the middle of the boot seem to get saturated each time it rains. I cannot detect where this water is coming from and so cannot cure it. Has anybody else had this problem? Any suggestions.remedies welcome!

check the drain holes are not blocked, other than that it could be leaking around the lock mechanism - IIRC there is a dealer fix for this problem - maybe give them a call

I had the same problem - Do you park on a slope?

The series 2 has the drain holes at the hinge end of the boot lid, so if you're parking facing uphill then the water collects at the back of the boot lid and if it rains enough builds up and over the lip into the middle of the boot.

My dealer installed a new drain hole (for free) in the rear of the lip with a pipe directing the water out the bottom. This was after I rejected their initial idea of parking facing the other way!

Unfortunately I got my car in November a couple of years ago and by the time I found the water it was a couple of inches deep and frozen solid!

I do park on a slope - and had wondered about that! Have cleaned out the existing drain holes and will head to the dealer to see about getting another hole. Thank you both for your help.
