Cadwell 2nd October
Discussion
I might be there in my TVR if RAF Marham gets all Syria-ous and doesn't hold a second track weekend this year. And after that vote t'other day, it is looking more hopeful for us petrol heads.
Love Cadwell, but as my local track it sees rather too much of me. Already been twice this year, and am doing the TVRCC day as well (9/9).

It's a fun circuit. Narrow (it's a bike track) and undulating, and it really tests your ability to choose the right lines. No very long straights, so my top speed, for example, is about 115, but great flowing corners, some you can take faster than you think and some you definitely cannot.
Loads of Armco and tyre barriers, so you can never really give it 100%, unlike an airfield.
I will let you know if I book it.

Just done my first Cadwell last thursday, what a blast! Id heard the reputation prior, narrow, armco, mini 'Ring etc but after 3 laps i was relaxed and loving it. I took instruction at Midday as i thought by then i was familiar with the car and track. Steve, the instructor, then fine tuned me and encouraged me to push on some more. Changing lines and keeping my foot in gave me confidence for an absolutely brilliant afternoon session. 200 miles on track screaming the nuts off the 1.6 all the way.
Considering there were 40 or so booked on for this i never once felt the track was overcrowded. As can be seen in the video there was lots of time i was out there virtually on my own. Also plenty of space to get out of the way of quicker traffic............to be honest that was most of 'em.
you will enjoy it and like me you will want to go back

So impressed he said it three times.....
But that's my feeling too - you can actually press on at some corners more than you think. When I first started there I used to take Coppice (end of the start finish straight, down at the bottom) at 70 in 3rd. I now take it at 90 in 4th. It also makes the next two corners flow better. That track is so much about line, and a good entry to the corners. Just don't enter the Hall bends too fast.

tis 3 x a better circuit than anything else ive been on.
Agreed, some great sessions on track today. Shame about the stoppages and hope the drivers of the various unlucky black cars get things sorted.
Good to meet the fellow Cayman owners and others during the day, had a great final stint with the CSL - so happy it was drier in the afternoon.

Loved it! Well the morning part anyway. The problem I think was when it started to dry people were pushing too hard and just catching the damp curbs/outer areas of the track. Not seen so many spins and crashes in a long time!
Nothing to do with Bob and Co at Javelin Trackdays who put on yet another superbly run day. I prefer Javelin to many other trackday companies especially the briefings. Looking forward to booking with them again.
Cadwell is such a great challenging circuit. My favourite track in the uk by some margin. So much undulation and a touch narrower than most others. Oulton a close second.

Had an awesome day, got about 7 6 lap sessions in. Shame about the red flags, but suppose its expected at cadwell to be honest.
My first time at Cadwell and managed to keep it facing the right way and on the black stuff so very pleased
. Also enjoyed pitting my little corolla against the cooper S's and Integras. Think it stood up for itself pretty well

It was a great day, shame about the drizzly weather in the morning but at least by lunch it was starting to dry up.
Shame about the Golf smashing into the Armco and closing the track for a part of the afternoon.
This was the first track day I've done before and I thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely do another, thinking of doing Croft next as it's a bit more local than Cadwell.

Croft is good fun too, except not as technical & engaging as Cadwell IMHO.Although having said that, there are (like Cadwell) a couple of corners that if you get spot on, you can get some good overtakes done with a bit of good timing/forward planning.
