Curborough Sprint Next Sunday 8th Sept £55
Discussion
ClubGTi are running another Curborough sprint next Sunday, on the short layout. They`ve run them for years and I`ve never been able to attend. Saw this date quite a while ago and put my name down. More details are in the thread on their website here : Curborough Sprint
Usually they only have VAG group cars, but they`ve opened it up to anyone else this time.
Apart from posting this incase anyone else fancied popping along for a cheap day`s sprinting and socialising, I was also wondering anyone who has been before had any useful tips they`d like to share ?
After all, it is timed, so any help is always welcomed

FANTASTIC. Thank you for the link !The price has been dropped to £45 for non ClubGTi Members. It`s usually £55, but they`ve decided to run it at £45 for everyone next weekend.
First visit to Curborough. Camped the night before which was a good social but bloody cold !
Queued for the first lap. Outbraked myself into the first corner ! That`s a good start...:
First lap was a 32.7 (all times from my PBox, start/finish may not be exact)
Queued again. went better, 29.8
Queued again 30.0
Queued again 28.9
Had lunch and gave the car a quick once over, all good
Inbetween all the queuing I had a good chat with loads of people, from the social side of the event, I can see the appeal, but the amount of queuing on what was a `quiet` day was too much, on a busy day, it would do my head in.
The circuit is harder than it appears, you know you only have one shot and it`s very easy to overdrive. I liked the fact that at the end of the day, I still knew there was lots of time to find. It`s a circuit where previous knowledge is a huge advantage, I suspect people who`ve done a lot of events will be on the pace straight away. A lot like the ring in that respect. I spent most of the event trying different lines. A second visit would yield quicker times I`m sure. The Aero, as expected made absolutely no difference. Quickest corner speed was about 60mph and that was just a curve. I knew it wouldn`t make a difference but left it on anyway.
People were a friendly bunch and it was a very relaxed affair, although I did hear of one instance where a driver was overheard telling someone they wouldn`t share their tyre pressure settings. Seriously.
I was able to experiment with the camera mounted at different positions to usual as external Suction mounts were allowed.
H&T

Water leak, from either the radiator or a hose stopped play, but it was 4pm by then anyway, so it wasnt` too bad.
Matt went out for an hour after lunch taking photos.

Had a quick play with some of the footage. A stitched together `lap` A couple of bits that could be improved, but it was just a quickly thrown together clip. Took about 30 minutes in total lol I only had the one camera that was located in different positions for each lap, hence it not being quite as `seamless` as I`d like
