It was a real pleasure, and an event which was particularly touching to me as I would have been bombing about on my moped at the same age as James was.
I hope to see you all soon, I have signed up for the North Weald event - I realised when I got home I had a flyer for it already.
My older step brother was killed at a similar age on a motorbike (one of the reasons I was never allowed one) I was only about 10 at the time.I hope to see you all soon, I have signed up for the North Weald event - I realised when I got home I had a flyer for it already.
Shame I couldn't get over any earlier, any thought about making it a Sunday next year? Maybe make a whole (or longer) day of it?
The pics look good....apart from my wedge practising the "broken down" look....lol.

The gentleman who was taking pictures of our cars with tripod and DSLR Camera has just posted this stunning picture on his flickr photostream:

I have asked if he has any more pictures. Clearly in a different league to our casual snaps.

and all the other nice smilies.....I LOVE that pic of MY car.....A great effort....I wonder if he'd mind me having it in High Res so I can make a canvas of it?
Does anyone have his contact details?
Norman
P.S. The "electrical" (was connections between the alternator and the battery) issues I had on the day are now well sorted and got to Blackpool and back over the weekend....

It was a good evening slightly marred by the issues I had on the way home, but that pic has made my Day/Week/longer??

Missing, now there's an understatement! It was on 4 or less cylinders when I pulled away, the battery volts were too low, and the alternator was not charging the battery most of the time. I could smell the unburnt fuel where the sparks were just not doing their job half the time. (I did wonder if it was making some nice "flames" but I guess not if I could smell the fuel?)

I think we were lucky it started at all TBH.....especially after what I found when I did get it home about 3:45am! (after the RAC man came and rescued me - AGAIN! Twice in a month.. for different things.. but hopefully won't need him again for a while now.)
I'm glad it sounded nice though, I've had a few compliments on the exhaust note recently (had another in Blackpool, from a Chim Owner) it's difficult for me to judge as I only hear it from IN the car. I still think it sounds like a Boeing Steerman Biplane when its cruising down the motorway. I must get it down to the Hindhead Tunnel sometime, its not really that far from me.
At least that problem is sorted (and has sorted a few other niggles including the Starter motor issue most of the time) so the car is getting there again.
It's always nice when the wedge gets admired by others, adds to the "silly grin factor".
I've created my Flickr account and messaged the guy, and favrouited his pic of course, and asked permission to use it.
I've also started to upload a few more pics of Wedgeinald to "his" Flicker account.
I'll stop hijacking this thread now.....
Thanks to Colin for organising the event, was a Great evening, and I'm definately up for next year.

Oh no! I didn't realise it was that bad. Glad you got home in the end and hope the wedge is now fighting fit.
I hope you manage to get a full sized print. I would love to see a canvas of the print. Keep us updated!

The wedge is running MUCH better now (probably the best it has ever done TBH) and got me to Blackpool with no major issues, so I'm confident we have it fairly well sorted.
I'll certainly take a picture of the canvas if I ever get to have it made up.
