The PH 2014 sportive
Discussion
So all, lets either arrange or decide on a 2014 sportive for as many of us to do as possible. All who have them must wear there PH jerseys! lets see how many we can get in one place at the same time.
If someone wants to throw there name into the ring to arrange an actual ride with feed stations all the better. I was thinking though maybe all decide on a central sportive with the aim of all completing an epic route IE 100+ miles together.
This could then help some with a goal for winter training and also give a few the chance to win bragging rights around the PP forum.
anyone up for it?

Marlow Riders Red Kite Ride? It has just taken place (ie today) and has 3 options 50, 80 and 100 miles. Centrally located, well run and organised, epic feed stations, good signage etc etc - the list goes on! (PS I've just finished as a zone manager for today - bloody NIMBYs nicking our signs!) I might have to get special permission as I'll probably be meant to marshall it again next year but it is a fantastic event.Lionheart is a good call! looking forward to that again in 2014. The problem with a single event is simply that they start around 0800 and getting there and back makes it a long day for even the most central of events, I dont fancy driving an hour or two to reach a venue for 0800, to ride 100 miles then drive back without a beer or two and the chance to meet a few of you so....
....work and personal faff aside, I'll happily plan another weekend away too, I reckon the Lakes in 2014?...

The lakes roads get busy during spring and summer. Seeing as how you have already done the hard work, why not plan a rerun of the Wales trip?
I'm sure we'd all like another stab at Hell Fire Pass, hopefully in the dry this time!

I only realised that HellFire Pass is in the "Britian's 100 toughest cycling climbs" book as I was flicking through it last night. http://www.theguardian.com/travel/2012/jul/20/brit...

I've got that book too!

I'd be up for a PH weekend, the last one sounded great and I was gutted I couldn't go!

Central to who?
Unless you're going to plan for something truly centrally located (i.e. the Midlands ...) then getting people to travel 3 or 4 hours is probably going to be tough. No one in London will travel further north than the M25.

Might be easier to propose something in the North and in the South?
I did the Bradley Wiggins Sportive last month ... some tough riding but a choice of routes, 60km, 100km or 160km. The 160km had an elevation of 10,200ft ... probably one of the toughest over that distance in terms of climbing in the Uk I would think.
