Something that's bugging me...

I've noticed on some V8V's and a DB9 I drove that some cars have green stereo and instrument cluster displays. My car has the silvery blue colour displays. Is this an age related thing or is it a customer option??
I prefer the non green one but its been bugging me as to why some cars are different.
Anyone know?

I believe the really early models 05/06 had yellowy green displays.
