Mobility clause.

Just after a bit of advice please before it possibly goes wrong!
The company I've worked at for 16 years have recently been taken over and about 60% of the workforce are being made redundant, me included. This doesn't worry massively as to be honest it was getting extremely boring and I was looking for a change anyway. The potential problem I have is in the mobility clause of my contract, which is that I can be asked to work anywhere within 20 miles. They've decided to move the company to Acton which is 22 miles from Slough Trading Estate where we are currently based but i know for a fact that the new boss told the chap behind me to doctor the map so it comes out less than 20 miles by not using any main highways as i overheard the conversation!
My leaving date is the 25th of October and I really don't think ithere will be a problem as they are going to be transferring everything to the new system on the 1st which I won't be trained to use, all being well I will be leaving on the 1st but things being what they are I can see them possibly telling me I have to move to Acton for the last month as a reasonable request and if I don't, no redundancy.
What I'd like to know is is there a legal way the distance has to be calculated or is it open to interpretation? The drivers have already been told that if they don't want to travel no redundancy will be offered. Worst case I guess I travel to Acton for a month and get paid to read a book all day.
