What type of camera?
Discussion
I was out for some recreational motoring (haven't done that for a long time. Is it still legal?) in the Solihull, Birmingham Airport vicinity, I had several alerts from my Road Angel showing "Mobile". All I could make out were two white lines across the roadway. What sort of "safety device" was I being alerted to? I assume they were not operational otherwise I would have seen a vehicle or some other decice nearby. What exactly is it and how would I know of it without my Road Angel?
Cheers for any help.

Depends if the lines were close together - few inches or spread apart - few hundred yards.
If the former probably a DS2 location. Sensors buried in the road with a information presented to a mounting post. Post can then be liked to a camera or car by side of road. If far apart probably for a VASCAR speed check - simple stop watch V = S / T

There were only two lines, about three feet apart in the middle of the lane. I couldn't see a post or anything by the side of the road. If it was being operated by Trafpol, how far away would the car typically be located?

Almost certainly a location for a Speedmaster DS2 or DS3. If you look carefully you will also be able to see the lines where the loops are buried in the tarmac. Close by on the verge there is often a short grey post which is where the van / car connects the camera etc to the loops. Not far from the white lines usually.
