They currently have a 30 day free trial, so you can try it and find out.

I started the trial last week and very impressed with it. I don't have slow internet though - however, I have had buffering with iplayer in the past even with supposed 100Mb/s Virgin. No problems at all with Netflix myself.

As the folks above say, I've tested Netflix on a 2meg connection out in the sticks with no problem. You may be limited with what others in the property can do at the same time when you're watching something, but it does produce a good stream.

Compare this with Lovefilm where even my 10meg connection isn't enough for an HD stream.

if the connection is too bad at times...can you pause it and let it catch up as such to come back in a while and watch it

I don't find it that bad. I tried Lovefilm about a year ago, and the content - and quality - was shocking. Netflix is better although there are not many recent films on it. I find there is a whole load of stuff I want to watch though, including TV series.

Not sure if you've done it, but if you change your DNS you can log into the USA servers.

OK, you may not be able to then - not sure if your TV would allow you to change DNS. If not - your router would, but I wouldn't want mine router using USA DNS for everything.

The US one has more content, but doesn't seem to have newer films. In fact, there is stuff on the UK server (The Hobbit, Dexter) which are not on the US one. It's nice to be able to access both though.

Go to unblock-us.com and sign up for their 7 day free trial and you can view any region of netflix. Subscription is only about 3 quid a month and will open you up to serious amounts of stuff. Takes seconds to change region and is the best 3 quid ive spent in a long time

With unblock us all you do is go on their website and there's a drop down box in which you select the country you want to use. If I remember correctly it doesnt affect anything else if you set up each device to use it rather than the router. The website has really simple ste by step instructions for every device. Just try it with their 7 day trial. I wasnt too impressed with uk netflix but once I started using this there was no question.

On the US site (when in the UK) you don't seem to be able to - at least, I can't from the PS3 - the option isn't there.

I can log onto the US site from my Nexus 7, and there I can - I click on a film, then "Add to my list" and it showed up on the US site when I used my PS3. But for some reason, on Friday "My list" disappeared from my PS3 view. It's still on my Nexus but I cannot get it back on the PS3.

On the UK site, click on a film and you should have the option to add it to your list, but I assume you know that.

I've also been using the US netflix site for a month. It's great being able to access additional content, but annoying that there's no "My List". I've been using a vpn service which allows a choice of IP addresses in a whole range of countries. It was great being able to watch stuff on the US site while away on holiday in France.

Yep, I use that on my Nexus 7.

One thing I am finding slightly odd with Netflix is the lack of surround sound on some films. I decided to watch the Expendables 2 last week (didn't expect it to be great, but wanted some mindless action) - only to find it was not 5.1. I gave up after about 5 mins because it really was a film that needed a sub.

Watched Thor last night which was great - HD picture and surround sound and on my projector worked very well. Planning the Avengers next, but again - it's not surround! Very odd.
