Oil surge to the O/S cylinders due to the fact that its on its side? I'm surprised you could even sit in it like that, if it was leaning the other way all of the petrol would have leaked out biggrin

Yes, but are you sure it's not sticking or stuck in the wrong position?

Have this too, not quite as bad. It seems to sort itself out in warmer weather but as soon as the temperature drops a little it gets worst. I read somewhere it was the ecu sorting itself out on cold startup & if everything else wasn't 100%, stepper ect, then this would occur. If I hold it at 12-1500rpm for a minute or so it settles down. thumbup

Classic symptoms of over fuelling to me wink its hunting because the motor wants to die and the stepper says "no you wont" and keeps repeating the cycle until the condition resolves itself, may be a faulty coolant temp sensor or poor base idle/throttle air bleed settings frown

Cheers for the replies guys, it was very strange just one night (cold ambient temp) started it up, and this happened.

I tried to drive it a bit, and it kept cutting out - wouldn't idle.

Drove it home, left it till the morning - all fine again now. It just worries me - something must have been wrong to cause that problem. I worry it comes back / gets worse etc.

So you reckon it's maybe worth having a look for an air leak in a vacuum line around the plenum etc?

Is there any easy way to diagnose a faulty ECU temp sensor?

With it being fina again now, I am guess it's going to be an intermittant fault if there is one at all.
