Hot air topic again

Getting warm air slowly coming through vents after car has been running a while.
going through past posts, think it might be heater valve.
The cold hot air dial operates a valve under my steering wheel, is this the heater valve?
This valve seems to be moving ok.
Going through old posts about heating problems is there another valve which can be got at
by going up via small removerble front panel on underside of car
Have tried to get my hand up past all the pipework but its very tight n cant believe
this is the way as decribed.
Any help would be great as im driving to spa soon and I might get heatstroke before
I get there.

My experience is that with no fan on the heater matrix heats up a little. Then the air that is drawn in becomes warm. A quick blast of air con cools the rad. Or just running the fan will also cool it. I'm fairly convinced this is just conduction heating of the matrix and therefore can't be improved. Do check that all 4 hoses are on the heater box, or if you have tunnel mod that the unused ports are still blocked off.
