Interested to hear your views on a terrible quandary I have 
Currently run a 997/GT2 LHD in Dubai and am returning to UK in Q2 next year. I have had the GT2 as an everyday car for last 3 years and love it & would be sad to see it go.
Options
1) Ship the car to UK (My car, known history, will become rarer as time goes by)
2) Sell it and try to buy a good RHD GT2 for around £70-75k, the sale value of LHD GT2 plus the cost of shipping (however worried about budget as they look to be >£80k at present. Also worried about finding genuine good one)
3) Sell it and try to buy 993 for up to £50-60k, but happy to spend less and pocket the difference (if so what model to buy)
4) Sell it and try to buy 964 for up to £50-60k, but happy to spend less and pocket the difference (if so what model to buy)
In the UK I would not be using the Porsche as an everyday car but would use it on a limited mileage/weekend basis.

If it was me, I would sell the GT2 in Dubai and buy something new in the UK.
Perhaps you should get something new in the UK as the state of the tarmac and places to use the speed of the car aren't as forthcoming as they are in Dubai, so you may feel a little disappointed when back in blighty?

Too much stress and £££ bringing it across (although to be fair mine was heavily modified and was a real headache to register). Without wishing to denigrate the truly superb car you have, the car would have to mean a lot to you personally to justify the expense.
Also UK roads are shocking. Scameras, potholes, MLMs, OAPs, the green eyed monster. I really despair of owning a nice car here. My wifes's 530 diesel is too quick. If I were in the market for a Porsche right now, I'd be looking at an air-cooled non-garage queen as an honest daily driver to enjoy at sensible speeds. Maybe even a 997 C2 if I really needed the Bluetooth/satnav and whatnot.
