Air Ventilation Circuit / Routing
Discussion
Does anyone have the routing for the flexi air vent pipes? Or maybe could take a stab at describing it and I'll knock up a Visio.
There are, IIRC, two long flexis that connect to the front of the bonnet these are pushed through the bulkhead at the engine bay sidewall (O/S) and just above the gearbox tunnel (N/S)
I assume that the N/S tube supplies cold air into the white pipe by the heater unit and the O/S flexi is just fresh air to the 2 rectangular vents on the dash.
The exit pipe of the heater supplies warm air to the footwell eyeballs and the centre console eyeballs.
The demist plenum is fed directly from a slot on top on the white pipe by the heater unit.
Is this correct?

The cold air ducted from the front of the bonnet goes straight to the eyeball vents on the centre console. The other outlets (windscreen & foot-well) are ducted from the heater by a flap which is moved by the lever on the heater control. Try using hoover pipe if you need to replace any of the ducting under the dash. It’s much more flexible than the original plastic stuff and easier to route to where you want it.
From experience, I think they mostly go behind the dash where they fail to connect to any vents and just curl around that area.
...any way you don't need them with the roof down, and if you pull them out of the engine bay it looks much neater and gaffer tape stop the engine bay leaking gases into the footwell

Wot Andy sed! I would have quoted him but he beat me to it!
Those flexi ducts do seem to be a bit of a waste of time. I've been thinking of stripping them out for a while now. But they would make a nice conduit for running cables to a pair of square combined spot/foglights I'm going to fit eventually.
