Help car not starting

I ve read a lot about cars not starting when thay are hot but mine has now failed to start twice in the last two weeks
First time drove about 4 miles stopped in a garage to put the roof on (started raining) car was not even warmed up had to leave it about 10 mins then started
Second time today left car in town gat back to it after two hours car would not start kept trying again for 10 mins then it started (the fuel pump primes every time just no starter motor)
Any ideas?

Is this the problem where you turn the key and nothing happens? Usually this is attributed to the starter motor getting cooked from the exhaust heat. But I gather from Mod-Wise that in many cases it can be fixed by upgrading the wiring loom to fix a duff feed to the starter motor.
