Dear all,

I have a Spartan kit car that my Dad built when I was just 5 years old....to cut a very long story short he sold it when I was 10 yrs and about 7 years ago I tracked her down and to my amazement she was still on the road, and I managed to buy her back.
This car means the absolute world to me and is never going out of the family again, however, I need some help to get her back on the road. A friend of a friend has had her for over 2 years and had promised to get her back on the road for me but due to his personal circumstance can no longer fullfill his promise to me. I'm heartbroken!! Is there anyone out there that can please please help me?
The head gasket needs replacing and some electrical work doing on the dash-board etc. and she needs to have an MOT. I just don't know where to go for help...I am more than willing to roll my sleeves up and learn how to care for her but I have absolutely no knowledge of how to do this. I cannot afford to pay a garage unfortunately, if anyone would be kind enough to help me this would be a labour of love. I live in Ramsey, Cambridgeshire. The story of me being reunited with her a few years ago was featured on the local new on TV.....this car is not only a car but a piece of my childhood, and to have her going again would be a dream come true!! If anyone can offer help please please get in touch with me. Many thanks to all who will read this. x

First car I built was a Spartan when I was 17/18 I drove it every day for over 11 years. I'd love to give you a hand but unfortunately I'm a long way away in Dorset.

Which is yours based on, Ford or Triumph?

Hi there, may I suggest making contact with someone at the Spartan Owners Club

http://www.spartan-oc.co.uk/

Looks like a great place to find Spartan expertise

Good luck!

Hi there, many thanks for your replies, I will follow these ideas up.

My Spartan is based on a Triumph Vitesse chassis with a Herald engine (or Spitfire, one of the two...lol)It's a shame Dorset is so far away.... ;-(

I occasionally get up to Essex, my brother lives near Saffron Walden. The Owners club used to be a good source of info but it's been many years since I was in it so I have no idea what it's like now but they seem to be very active at all the shows still smile
