Hi Guys,

I know this might sound as a stupid question. But I am new to the Noble ownership and here in Malta there is no other.
How do you clean the K&N air filters?? Should I buy any special cleanser or should I just soak them or something. And must I remove the intercooler piping to access the filters' screws??

Thanks

Keith

K&N do their own cleaning and re-oiling liquids but I daresay there are cheaper options. Yes easier to take pipe work off to access screws.

Thanks Rob

But is there one specific for the filters put on the M400 or anyone (K&N has) works.

Lastly, should I still wash the filter in luke warm water (that is what I used to do with my ITG filter on my previous car)

^^^ There's probably a horrifically bad reason why you shouldn't do this but it's worked for me on previous cars. Not had to clean mine yet though.

they only need cleaning like every 50,000 miles !

the dirt that get stuck in them adds to the fitration

Thanks all guys for your comments .... although not sure about the dishwasher one :-)

With regards to upgrading the filters ... I was thinking of getting larger K&N filters with an opening at the top (rather than closed like in the original filters) ...
What do you think?? Is it worth the extra buck ... will I be getting extra power/HP or is the filter thing just a myth

Regards
Keith

Std filters will make up to 600bhp so I should not waste you money on upgrades .

Best upgrades to do are anything to do with heat management , wrapping exhaust , bigger inter cooler , bigger rear grill ect .

Less heat more power .

Dishwasher is great. Although my girlfriend doesn't think it's for car parts. Little does she know.

Hi there,

I have been to Malta a few times on holiday and on one occasion a black Lotus Exige went past me and it did make me think, (and at the time I had an Exige in the uk)......where are the driving roads!! just couldn't imagine taking my lotus or Noble there for that reason.

Congrats tho, awesome car.

True Dacone

My aim is circuit driving in Sicily.

Tux ... from where can I buy heat wrapping material in the UK. I have the larger intercooler and also the forged dump valve (and Roush exhaust). Does relocating the air filters help the engine in aspirating 'cooler' air??

Thanks guys

a mixture of mud, dead flies, hay and grit is a good alternative to K&N oil too! biggrin

The rear grill that the number plate fits on , move the plate and fit a bigger mesh grill , helps with airflow through intercooler , like this .

Thanks Tux ... BTW Beautiful rear side to your Noble; exquisite colour

WRT the slits on the side ... Are those to relieve built up pressure in wheel arch, or are they purely cosmetic??

Thanks Keith , nothing on the car is cosmetic (except the strips) everything is designed to help her slip through the air and stay cool biggrinbiggrin.
