Good price for a 996 front bumper spray?

Hi all,

My 996 is having some body work done under insurance at the moment after I was backed into in a supermarket car park. My front bumper has the usual stone chips and light scuffs that you might expect from a 14 year old car that lives on the street; the spray shop have offered to repaint it for £200 + VAT.

Is this a good deal? I was told on the phone that it's a cheaper rate as they've got the car in already and would have the paint (ocean blue) mixed up.

I was planning on having these paint issues fixed once the car is no longer spending its evenings on the streets, being gently nudged by poor parkers, but if this is a good price I'd be tempted to get it done now.

Quality of work and preparation is usually ones primary concern. If you're happy with their work, then that seems quite reasonable. Assume it's a bumper off, clean rads whilst they are there and reset number plate as was. Your problem will be that your shiny new bumper may highlight your peppered bonnet! Might be worth getting that done too. Of course, they need to blend that in to the wings, so might as well get behind the front wheels done, which may need blending in to the doors....

+1 on the above, I would suggest getting bonnet and wings done at same time, had mine done earlier this year, you should be looking to pay £5-600.
