Forget exactly what I did to mine but I at least had new beefy cables fitted, new starter, new battery and new alternator. Now have no starting issues but it wasnt the cheapest option!

Heat soak was rectified when I put the fuel hose in a fire sleeve. I used marine tinned cable for power. Vehicle wiring products does it, also on ebay. Durite sell a cheap crimper. A couple of metres will do you from the battery to starter to big fuse to alternator.

I replaced all the earth leads with 35mm TIG welding cable from Battery to chassis -- Chassis to engine & Starter cable.

Also these for a really firm connection to Chassis

At the Starter motor I have fitted a 30amp relay which has stopped the problem even after a long drive & a quick restart, as the Chimera guide here shows, I fiited mine onto the solenoid body.

Not hard at all & stops the embarrassing "Click" at the petrol station when all eyes seem to point at you while you just sit therelaugh
Hope this is useful.

There was a topic on here about a shim under the starter stopping the heat expansion and meshing of gears due to heatsoak.
