I didn't see a discussion on here about it, so wondered what people's thoughts were on this concept.

It's coming out late this month, the Sony QX100 which is basically a self contained camera module that sends all data straight to a smart phone rather than have it's own LCD display.

To me at the moment it seems too expensive, and like any other camera at the moment, it's going to date as its sensor does. But if they made the sensor seperate from the lens, then it's going to be a more future proof purchase (the lens anyway) in my opinion.

They also have a 18MP 10x optical zoom one (the QX10, which is slimmer and cheaper, but has a smaller sensor so seems less interesting to me.

I might be more interested in a future version that connects to Google glass too. Also it seems like a market that GoPro could move into very quickly too for video.
