Hey all, ever since I picked up the Green Meanie I've had problems fuel starvation (or at least I think that's what it is) under floored acceleration. Basically if I floor the throttle it misfires, backfires with power loss then picks up, but stutters unless I lift my foot. However if I apply the throttle progressively it is OK. Any idea's? Its under a 'no quibble' Kerridges warranty so I'd rather diagnose & get it done sooner rather then later.

Cheers

Ian

BTW - The fuel pump was noisy when I test drove it so that was changed prior to me colleccting

or your fuel line is partially clogged. Try to monitor fuel pressure at WOT vs progressive throttle.

Plug gaps as daddysumo suggests or new plugs might be needed, or open your fuel filter and clean it out.

Sorry,

On a certain car recently and several others over the years, suffering the same problem it was a blocked fuel filter, as discovered by Jetstream

On my car a fresh set of spark plugs fixed it, on another occasion it was a coil breaking down.

smile happy Mark?

Also collapsing fuel feed hose is known possible cause.
