So skinny people have a faster metabolism, right?

2) people forget how much they've eaten.
I certainly think people underestimate it. Of all the changes I made when I decided to lose weight, probably the most important was signing up to Myfitnesspal - you just don't realise how much rubbish you're eating until you start logging it properly.Engineer1 said:
yep, I'd agree people forget how much they have eaten or discount how bad their choices are, saying that as a fat git i do wonder how some of the skinny guys say skinny based on what you see them eat.
Because, probably, what you see them eat is all they eat. The rest of us will go home and scoff a few cakes and a bag of crisps without thinking about it.Eh? Isn't this video saying fat people are fat because they eat more than skinny people? And even though they have a higher metabolism, they eat more than their higher metabolism is able to balance out.
Same old perception though -
Fat person: "It's not fair, skinny people can eat as much as me and not get fat."
Why are you complaining? You have an evolutionary advantage that allows you to be a normal weight for less money. But instead you spend the same money on food as a skinny person and get fat. Why not just save the money on food and have an extra holiday a year and not be worried about wearing your beachwear at the same time?
Sure it's not fair. It's not fair on the skinny people!

Even eating just cereals in the morning can be calorific. Weigh out a 30g portion of breakfast cereal, it's a pathetic small amount for such a large amount of calories. I did it out of interest the other day and could not believe it...Granted, its the sugar coated ones that are naughty but its still an eye opener..

What you think a portion of Cornflakes looks like:

What a portion actually looks like:

Myfitnesspal blew my mind when I first got it. I thought I was having a decent 3 meals a day with only a few small snacks (bag of crisps etc) over a day. My average over the first week before I started the reduction was something like 4500 calories!
It's astounding how quickly my 'allowance' gets used up each day. A normal think like a sandwich from sainsburys is normally like 600 calories, or like 1/3 of my daily allowance!

Sainsbury's BGTY chicken Salad salad sandwich is 280 calories. What kind of 'normal' sandwich are you thinking of? A pizza sandwich?

It was only an example

Lets take today, Chicken and Bacon sandwich from M&S = 550calories. I know it's quite a 'bad' sandwich but still!

Sorry - forbidden.

Most of the non-"healthy eating" sandwiches in supermarkets are 500+ calories. Once you factor in the ton of mayo and high calorie fillings it really adds up.

Ok:
1) the fatter you are, the faster your metabolism.
2) people forget how much they've eaten.
Proven in the video before you say it's all lies.
i'm a fatty and agree with both those 1) the fatter you are, the faster your metabolism.
2) people forget how much they've eaten.

My basic metabolic rate is 3,200cals/day. I frequently forget what I've eaten unless I write it all down!
