It's like rocket fuel (almost literally!)

Had a few good sessions on it, makes things go very wrong very quickly.

is it actually drinkable then? had some 90% absynth and it was like drinking barbed wire.
Apparently comes with all sorts of warnings about it being extremely flammable and has a fireproof lid.
80 quid a bottle at the local wine shop tho ! the mrs is going to go ballistic but I feel I Need it !

Asda sells Wray & Nephew Jamaican overproof rum at 63% ABV for £24 a bottle.

I haven't tried this, but you've given me the idea for some end of summer jerk chicken / pork BBQ shenanigans.

It's good stuff but only if you're bringing it back from say the states where you'll pick it up for around a third of the price.

I agree rocket fuel it is, opened my bottle about a year ago only had a few.

I bought it from the states for about $20 a few years ago.

Overproof rum is a good thing, but Bacardi 151 is bloody vile. Rocket fuel, as has been said.

I got given a bottle that someone picked up in Tenerife about 10 years back - it was vile!

I took it to a party at someones house as a 'this is vile but some nutjob may like it. There was just the right nutjob there!

Do the bottles still have the metal 'flame arrestor'?

My fave rum is Myers, totally the other end of the scale

Had Brugal 151 at a party once. Really rough probably worse than Absinth
