What discount on new Cayman S at OPC

After testing a manual Cayman S today I am poised to commit and put down a deposit tomorrow to reserve a build slot.

So the question to ask is what kind of discount should I be looking at against a list specification of £61K?

I doubt you will anything off list, but you might get one thing off th finance.

I was offered 5%, I think you should push for 7/8% at this time of year...

And then ask for some free options to get the deal :-)

mate just ordered a 991 C2 .. got 10% after asking several OPCs to quote. this happened this week.

this is for a new car ordered to his spec

I managed to get 10% discount off a new built to order Boxster 2.7.
It did take quite a bit of shopping around and negotiation. Also had to have it on finance (HP)

That's pretty impressive. What was the apr on the hp, I'm wondering whether they got some of it back via interest?

You can take the finance at whatever rate and cancel within the cooling off period. Worked for me.

Got offered less than that on a 4S , but then they wanted to pre reg it so in effect wanted me to buy a sh car.

An email follow up asking if I was still interested because someone else wanted it ?

Amateur at best .

I'm having £20000 on Porsche/VW HP finance over 5 years at 7.9% APR
One month in and I will be making a capital repayment of £15000 by taking out a loan with my bank, First Direct, at 5.1%. That is the maximum amount they will do at that rate.
Over the remaining 59 months I will save £1700 in interest.
I had to take the Porsche finance as part of the finance commission the OPC gets has gone into my 10% discount.
There is no penalty in making a capital repayment.

My 2010 997 has a list price of £87k, the buyer paid £77k

10% is more than the dealer gets in commission so timing helped as might have coincided with volume bonus for them from Porsche.
