Hi All

I've just taken my first steps infusing my own Bourbon, I've had Apple and Vanilla on the go for about 7 days. I've just strained it out but i want to filter it better, it's still quite dark and there's very tiny bits of apple floating about.

I got coffee filters but it's just going to take ages dripping in, anyone got any advice for filtering? John lewis have a Jam strainer kit for £3 I'm going to try.

poke a hole or two with a pin at the bottom of the coffee filter. it will still stop big stuff getting through but will flow better.

A pair of tights work nicely I find for filtering all sorts of things like homemade wine/cider etc.
