Max power for a Selespeed transmission ?
Discussion
How long is a piece of string?
The power is irrelevant for the transmission it is the torque being pushed through it that makes a difference. Fiat claimed that the extra torque of the 2.4l Stilo (compared with the 2.0ts Alfa 147) would actually make the system behave better. How far that argument goes is tricky.
I wouldn't expect too much of it though - Fiat don't have a good history with new gearboxes. It generally takes them a couple of decades to iron out the problems with each new design.
If all you want to do is raise the rev limit though you shouldn't have too much difficulty provided the transmission fluid doesn't froth too much and the bearings can take the punishment. Hook it up to a 5pot coupe turbo engine and I would expect it to go pop very quickly.
