S Type R - Running/servicing costs

Been pondering on an S Type R for a few weeks now. It would be a 2005/2006 model. Fuel aside, what is it likely to cost me to run one?

Are there any major issues with this vintage car that are also likely to crop up?

Any good independent specialists in the Herts/Beds/Cambs area??

>2004 is good. Coolant hose under the supercharger seems to fail on most cars at some point so worth checking if it has been done. The hose is cheap but it's a lot of time to do the job - probably ball park £750 all in. Apart from that potential problem anything else should be apparent with an inspection. Don't buy anything that the owner claims is a cheap fix. If that's the case, ask them to fix it before sale! It's tedious, but you need to sit in the car for half an hour and check that everything works - from the nav to the boot release. Apart from the hose issue I don't think they have any particular issues. All Jags can suffer from suspension/bush wear at higher mileages but so do most heavy cars.

EPB can play up
Battery needs to be tip top condition
Tyres ideally good as they are spendy.
Get the wheel alignment set as per new TSB to stop abnormal tyre wear.
Look for any water in boot as loads of electrics in there, light seals can allow water in.
Easily serviced yourself and then you know it is done as you'd like.
I love it fast comfortable and with Adamesh exhaust the sound is spot on

I've been looking at getting back into a Jag and have been looking at the 4.2 n/a and s/c versions. Prices are very low at the moment, although I understand that it's still a 50k motor so servicing and running cost are still up there. I'd be looking for a car owned by an enthusiast and devices by a good independent at least. From research, it seems to be niggles rather than major issues, but I would rather pay extra for a very good example.

As i posted in response to the same question in General G yesterday.

I want to sell mine within the next month. PM me if interested.
I was going to PX it, so if youre interested i will meet you half way between PX and private price.
Its a 2005 (facelift) with 98000 miles otc.
You can also dig up all its history if you go back through my posting.

As for why you shouldnt. Dont go in blind. A set of Michelins Pilot Sport 3s cost £900 (there are cheaper alternatives though) so fuel isnt the only major cost to consider.
ETA- me and the car are in Dorset.
