Thought i had cracked it.
Put fuel into the tank using a green can.
Noticed dripping from underneath, petrol is dripping from the area around the roll over valve which is situated halfway down the tank behind the bulkhead.
The only time this has been touched is when putting new fuel hose onto the top of the fitting.
1.Why is fuel reaching this valve only on topping up ?
The metal flap is not springing back inside the spout before replacing the petrol cap, this should not have any influence on anything.
2.The hose connection could be loose. Definately not,but if it was why is fuel getting there in the first place?
3.Maybe the flexi nozzle from the can was not in the tank enough and fuel was trickling down the leak off pipe.
4.Fitting a large filter in the vent line has caused the tank to pressurise, highly unlikely i would have thought.
Way Forward.
Remove the roll over valve from its current inaccessible location and relocate around the vicinity of the top of the tank.
Remove the large filter and fit a small filter nearer the tank, after all its only to stop dirt ingress back into the tank.
Thoughts would be intresting,i'm on nights for a couple of days so won't be getting involved until back to normal.
Cheers
