Golf Mk3 Windscreen Wipers

Hi All,

My windscreen wipers keep on breaking on my Mk3 Golf.

They either get stuck on a sweep of the window or they won't stop when you tell them to! Then sometimes they work fine! A right royal pain in the arse!

Haven't had a chance to look in the Haynes yet but any ideas?

Could be wrong but I don't think its the motor as they work (most of the time) I either can't turn them off or adjust the speed.

My thinking is there is either a contact dirty or perhaps the stalk itself is failing. eg. Providing a dodgy connection.


Any one else had the same problems?
