Hi,

First post...just picked up a '95 model with the light panel next to the radio. Everything with it is perfect, just the headlight indicators and the indicator LED not working..so here goes:

Correct me if I'm wrong (I'm not sure) but the handbook states that an LED should light green when the indicators are operating? The correct light above the hazard switch falshes but the LED (in-between the Speedo and Rev. Counter) doesn't. This is marked as No.23 in trhe handbook.

The Rear Fog lamp warning works, but the Full Beam, Side Lights do not. Are these filament bulbs or LED's?

Handbrake warning and Brake Fluid warning work.

The guy I bought it off said it has heated seats fitted. The standard fan control has been changed for an aluminium one. I remember that Vauxhalls had a push in/out fan switch to operate the heated rear screen, is this the way you turn the heated seats on/off? I can't seem to pull the switch in/out. Maybe they're not fitted/the ally control is not fitted correctly.

Last one! The handbrake has been changed for an alloy one (not leven) which is a massive sculpted thing - anyone know who makes these - it's a pig to use sometimes!

Sorry this list is so long, hope some of you can help me!

Handbrake sounds like a Zertec one.

Heated seats - check behind the seats first, if there are wires going under the seats then it has heated ones! The switch is on the steering column, its a standard TVR black plastic button just behind the ignition. Nowt to do with the fan switch at all.

I think all the warning lamps are filament. You can get at them by pulling the radio, then if memory serves there's a couple of screws holding the panel in place.

re the indicator led's, this varies from car to car, the only indicators on most of the pre face lift cars is to the left of the radio. In other words, it may or may not be an indicator LED between the speedo and rev counter, it's more likely to be oil or alternator lights, or perhaps not be wired to anything. Is it definately green?

Thanks for the help,

There were wires running to the seats, and I found the button behind the rake adjustment lever. There's not indicator light, but you can hear a relay click when it's pushed in.

The two LED's in-between the main gauges are a red one (top) and a yellow one (midis dle). I assume the red one is oil pressure - not sure about the yellow one?

Had a look at the Zertec site, and it looks like a match. Doe's it just slip over the standard handbrake?

Thanks a lot for you help.

Shows how long since I drove mine in the cold, I was on the wrong side!!

If the Zertec lever is like the Leven one it slips on after removing the standard plastic sleeve, and is held by a small allen grub screw on the underside.

Oh, and my 95 4litre had no indicator repeater between the clocks, just the arrows on the switch panel, but my 96 5litre has both, so the change was somewhere between 95/96.
