When you drive your car the coolant always gets up to temp way before the oil. With that, we can assume block temperature is good and piston clearance is fine. But, because most new cars don't have oil gauges we dont know at what point that gets up to temp (unless you check the on board data from the DIS or infotainment system). Is modern oil technology at a point where oil temp in modern engines is less of an issue, hence only a coolant gauge.

Is it now safe to push the engine to high speeds when we only have coolant at running temperature?

It generally takes far longer to get oil up to temperature, I would stay under 75% of max rpm until the engine had been running warm for 10 minutes.
