Jaguar engine spares - recommendations...

Any recommendations please on where to try for a couple of oil pump "O rings" for a Series 1 XJ6 2.8 motor?
I'm not being lazy, have spent time on the 'phone and on the 'net - too many hits for my searches turn out to be modern XJ6s, not in the U.K. or the seals are only available as part of a gasket set... don't need a full set as I've just rebuilt the bottom end but seem to be losing all my oil pressure via a dodgy pump seal.
Now, if I wish to order them from the States they are "one dollar ninety five a set sir..."

If they're just o-rings can you find a standard o-ring to fit?

Appreciate this requires knowing what size they are!

Been trying to work out what size they should be and whether they are square or round section. Unfortunately they fell to bits when I tried to remove them so I'll have to take the pump etc. into town I think - was trying to avoid that as I was hoping to spend most of the day in the garage, it's the "Hot Rod Drags" this weekend!

Never tried to find these for an XJ6, but normally finding Jag parts is relatively easy. Have you tried someone like SNG Barratt?

Just noticed you've parted with the Hurricane - has it moved to pastures new?

Yep, the Hurricane went about a month ago to a lad in London - I hope he's enjoying it; I spent about an hour describing all its flaws and imperfections to him and then he handed me a big wodge of cash. Sold it to make room for a Mk1 MX5... this winter we're off touring around North Yorks and that area, the Hurricane would be great if the weather's on our side but less so if it rains for two hundred miles. Missed it the moment it went tho', I don't suppose you could suggest a decent old fashioned, good looking, rear wheel drive, two seater Brit' sportscar that's fun to drive and sounds nice... oh, and is fibreglass.......

Joking apart, I may write up a comparison between the Mazda and the Hurricane as there is an awful lot of rubbish spouted about each of them.

I've a soft spot for the Hurricane as I owned a kit for one for a while but never got around to building it.

Having replaced it with something that meets your list above , a TVR S3C, then I can't see me getting another

Also have a Mk2.5 MX5 so be interested to see your report.
