Hi Chaps,

Just popped over from the M / Taimar area :-)

The reason for my visit is seats..........specifically S seats.

I was at the pre 80's event in Nottingham yesterday and being a big lad at 6'6" I do find my Taimar a tight squeeze.......one of the chaps with a 1600M actually had S seats which I tried for size and I was able to sit much lower.

Given this bit of info, I was wondering if anyone had a pair of S seats knocking around that are looking for a new home? (clearly for an agreed £££)

Dirty and dusty I can live with but don't want a refurb job, so condition needs to be ok. Colour not important as I can re colour to match but if they are "tan" that's a bonus

Any way, thanks for letting me post on your forum

Regards

There have been a few different seat styles in the S series, my 1990 car came with black vinyl seats, not too dissimilar to my Taimar seats in shape (they have cloth facings).

I replaced them with Grey leather seats from an unknown year car, thinner and more "bucket seat" like.

I also have a pair from a V8S (that are going in the Taimar) that I'd say are somewhere between the two?

I'm not far away from you (Redditch) if you want to pop over and chat/look at seats for ten minutes?

Mike.

Ok, seats now sorted......getting them all cleaned up this weekend ready to trial fit / aligned when I get my Taimar back.......just sitting in them on my garage floor I can already feel that they sit lower. so fingers crossed.

Once all the fitting faff is sorted I'll kick off the re colour refurb

One question, the plastic mechanism covers.....I've already figured out you can't get them but wondered if the chim / griff ones can be made to fit.......its just a cover after all?

Thoughts on options all

If you need any seat springs or a pair of headrests, I have these items left from when I scrapped the old seats from my S .!
Absolutely rotten seat frames.
