I've seen an increasing number of cretins put AMG badges on their (Diesel) cars recently.
I really want to stop them and just ask why?
People who are clued up on cars will know instantly it's not an AMG and people who don't know about cars won't care!
It's just a bit sad.
Bizarrely I saw a C class estate taxi with "350CLK" badge in Northampton!

Personally I don't understand why people Want a label on the back of their car, explaining what it is.
When I buy a pair of Jeans, I always remove the sticky label telling the size and style of cut.
Similarly with cars.
If it's a SLK - the shape of car clearly shows this - what is the point of sticker.
Writing the engine size - mmmm... for whose benefit? You bought the car you must know what it is.
AMG - will admit took a while to remove, but our cars have so many other indications that it is an AMG, those interested in cars should recognise, and those who don't generally are not really interested anyway.
Personally
Car without model information, looks cleaner - and is easier to clean (muck gets caught inbetween letters etc).
Car with WRONG information just adds further clutter, distracting from the shape of car. A bit like a bumper sticker, this graffiti distracts from the shape of car.
Another way of looking at it - like a bald man wearing an ill fitting wig - or aged news readers without the slightest hint of grey hair - just does not quite look right.
(Manufacturer brand logo I can understand, and is normally placed centrally to be subtle).

I've seen a few around, mostly on crappy older cars driven by young(ish) men. The issue would be resolved if dealerships only sold AMG badges to actual owners.
On a similar note I moved from M cars about 8 years ago at about the time drivers in reversed baseball caps became a relatively common sight here in Manchester: I've yet to see such headwear worn in an AMG, but rebadging and chavvery often go hand-in-hand...

Our ML 500 has got small AMG logo stickers on the side runners that were there when I bought it from Mercedes and I haven't bothered removing, even though they are clearly not an AMG (or even MB for that matter) part. They happen to be exactly the same size as the logo on the alloys, so I suppose the previous owner must have had them copied and turned into stickers.

I'm young and have worn a cap in my 63 and live down the road from Manchester. You best put the car up for sale On a similar note I moved from M cars about 8 years ago at about the time drivers in reversed baseball caps became a relatively common sight here in Manchester: I've yet to see such headwear worn in an AMG, but rebadging and chavvery often go hand-in-hand...

It's your car - why d'you want me to sell it for you?
Lazy fecker, can't even bother taking your hat off indoors. Perhaps a problem with the '63's heater?
