Downloaded it the other night. Looks good and now has a Library function like itunes etc.

If it downloads and doesnt install correctly you cant go forward with 10 or go back to 9.

I'm usually quite onside with MS but this 'all users are cretins' mentality really gets my goat.

My laptop shut done at what I considered a fairly "critical stage" (the extracting and reading stage after the download). I was still able to go forward to 10 - I was pleasently surprised (especially after the hassle I had with SP2).

I had that, but it turned out my firewall was killing the install as it tried to load the config page.
