Dear All,

Has anyone got a copy of the Noel Edmunds does Le Mans from about 6-8 years ago. As I remember it was shown in the summer and then again on New Years day many years ago.

I would like to get a copy of it, as it was a good story of how Noel put a team together, the lead up to the race, then the emotions during the race. One of those programs which got me to start going to Le Mans.

Cheers

Webby is that the one where Clarkson was acting as advisor/piss-taker and they plumped for a Lister as I recalled...

PS. £210,000 seems a little steep for a Celica

That's right, Lister/Panoz, get mixed up as both their cars always sound so good and look so extreme

Don't get me started. Clarkson & Edmunds were on Radio Le Mans giving it large saying how they were going to fund an all British attack the following year. Yeah right. Granted the original Panoz was developed by Reynard but team Panoz was probably as far from an all British team as you can get.

There were other options like the TVR 12/7 which had just been introduced but that would have involved too much of their own money to properly develop. It may well have blown up on the first lap but heh that really would have been the enthusiasts approach.

Rant over.

It was def the Panoz Esperante GT car. I will have a look for you as my Dad worked for Panoz about 2 years ago and he is still quite friendly with them.

Definately not the Esperante, that is a completely different car.

The original GT1 Panoz was called an Esperante.

Also there is the other, newer, Esperante...

I have never heard it known as the Panoz Esperante GT1. All the text on the Panoz website also describes the car as the Panoz GTR-1.

The absence of smileys makes me unsure if you remain to be convinced, so to close the matter, the 1997 Le Mans results Check out 24th place...

I might have a copy. If not try the BRSCC archives; as my copy may be there.

I stand corrected, I apologise, never knew it as the Esperante. It was awesome to watch and listen too though, especially at Inianapolis and Arnage

There was an Esperante roadcar in the "secondary" paddock area last year surrounded by the oligiary Ferraris and Lambos.

It was drawing so much attention as it looked fantastic as none of the collected petrolheads knew what it was we went for a closer look and found out - as I recall it was a coupe mind you, not a converible like in this picture.

I've always presumed it the steed of Don Panoz himself...
