Last year I stayed at the municipal campsite in Beaumont-sur-Sarthe http://www.ville-beaumont-sur-sarthe.fr/index.php/... which was very nice, quiet, and hospitable. But it came to my attention that the landlady, the lovely Marie, who was very much the reason of the hospitable part, will not be there anymore next year, as she will be opening her own B+B in the Provence. Also, Beaumont-sur-Sarthe is about 25 miles away from Le Mans, which is not extremely convenient.
So I might (or might not, decisions are very much still open on that) want to stay the week at another campsite.

Anybody stayed at the Spay municipal campsite and can tell me about it? It is supposedly the campsite which is the closest to the circuit. http://www.ville-spay.fr/spip.php?rubrique28

Or any other options? Nothing too expensive though, I pretty much only need decent sized pitches for a car, a tent and a gazebo, and one for a car and a caravan, both with electrical hook-up. Quietness on the site is what I am looking for, so the less kids, the better.

Thanks in advance,

Vince

I will be the one with car and caravan, so yes somewhere peaceful would be nice?

Im guessing the closer to the circuit you go, the busier it will be. Alternative ideas are good but we should try the original site closer to the time maybe smile

And yes, the less kids, the better smile

Try the municipal site in Ecommoy, south of the circuit and easy access back to the circuit. Used it many times for the 24 hours

There's a great site about 4miles away at Yvre L'Eveque, La Pont Romaine. Good facilities, quiet and not far from red car parks. Speed Chills had started using the site but never had a problem booking direct even for the race weekend. Last went 2011 tho so may have changed.

Thx Bob!
Can you roughly point out what price it will be for:
-one pitch, one person, car, tent, electricity
-one pitch, two persons, car, caravan, electricity
The website of the camping is not telling much!

You can ask the Bounty. Nice and quiet normally and some nice places next to the lake.
You could camp here but we are 40k from the circuit, Bounty is much closer.

@vincegail

It is a while since I stayed there but I think the municipal camping sites are all about the same prices.
