Minecraft for kids

So my very nearly 6 year old will be getting a Samsung Galaxy Tab2 for his birthday complete with the full Minecraft Version.

Upto now he plays minecraft lite on my ipad daily. He loves it but gets fustrated with having to rebuild everything each time.

Basically is there anything i need to be aware of? Will he suddenly come acros other people in the game? Does he need to join a server or something?

I am uknowing of minecraft

if he only plays single player he dosent need to connect to a server and as long as he saves he can keep playing the same world

The only thing is to not put it into the survival mode. I'm 32 and the mobs still scare me sometimes. Bloody Creepers.
