Hi everyone,

Can anyone tell me which diff is fitted in an S2?

I've searched previous posts but can only find reference to the options available on Sierras/Granadas.
All I've been able to confirm so far is the driveshafts are 100mm.
Is it 7.5 or 7"?
I have access to a breaking Sierra but the diff has to be compatIble.
Any help will be great, many thanks Alan

Is should be a 7.5"open diff I think it was sierra / Granada sourced but prob on lots of other cars too. Replace with a LSD it makes a huge difference.

3.64:1 iirc

Thanks

I got one on my living room floor if you need any details give me a shout, but I can confirm it's 3.64, 7.5 inch open diff with 100mm bolt on flanges

That's perfect, thanks Phillpot.
The 7.5" refers to the distance across the topmount, right?

I think it actually refers to the crown wheel diameter but, by coincidence, does match a measurement on the casing.

Handy linkwink

Searched that beach for hours but couldn't find any thing else other than plastic bottles and bits of old fishing line smile

Yes the top mount is a easy way to tell straight away if you have a 7 or 7.5 inch diff you can simply measure it or look at the bolt arrangement 7 inch has one long bolt 7.5 has threaded inserts for two short bolts, however don't right off a good 7 inch diff I've fitted one with a simple spacer arrangement far more important is the ratio and the 100mm bolt on flanges
