It depends on your flight/boat times, how much of the day do you have?

Poole to Guernsey is a 3 hour crossing, so check your departure/arrival times.

Condor were running daytrips from Guernsey to Jersey a couple of weeks ago: depart guernsey at 12, arrive jersey at 1, depart Jersey at 2.30, arrive Guernsey at 3.30.

The jersey tides affect the sailing schedule, so make sure you get a decent amount of time here.

Herms gorgeous, walk round the coast then have a pint in the Dolphin, best urinal around as you have a slash overlooking the beach, lovely.
I got marooned in the dolphin once and had to blag a drunken voyage back with a fisherman!

You are not likely to get to Herm and have any time to see/do anything.
For just a few hours there I'd suggest a wander round the streets of St. Peter Port, leisurely lunch etc.

If you leave at 8am and come back at 3pm you only get around 3 hours on the island - assuming the ferry sticks to the timetable. You have to be back and check-in 40 minutes before departure for the return journey. It takes a little time to land, walk off the ferry, get through security and customs etc.

You really have very little time to take an excursion to one of the other islands.

You basically have enough time to wander around St Peter's Port, some shopping and finding somewhere to eat - rather than eat on the Ferry.

Also, take sandwiches or get a breakfast before you get on the Ferry for the journey to Guernsey.
