If the process is corrupted, wrong information / data used, subsequent and very relevant information later comes to light, the law itself acknowledges an error ...

It is a question of whether the correct application of the Law has been made that gives rise to appeals etc.
That's dead right Swilly.
When you study the statutes so many of them are very philosophically sound and designed to protect and implement justice.
It's the application of them, on far too many occasions by the wrong people, that cause the problems and make the Appeal Court a vital safety valve.
