Unusual fuel hose failure..?
Discussion
So... Just got back from holiday, not back to work until Monday and am heading to Blackpool tomorrow for Back Home 2013 - life is good, until I went to get the Griff out for a quick blast.
Strong smell of fuel and something dripping from n/s rear. Out with the trolley jack for pretty easy ( but smelly) fault finding session... Fuel hose from pump to filter had a pinprick hole allowing a lovely fine jet of neat petrol to spray right across to the diff.
Only a short run of pipe so less than half an hour to change it, but i can't see any obvious reason the old pipe failed (old is a relative term - confident all the lines are less than 3 yrs old and good quality hose). The failure wasn't on a bend, no sign of scuffing, cracking or other mechanical damage
If i was paranoid I'd wonder if someone had stuck a pin through it
