I'd love to attend but don't think I can make it to Peterborough. Is this a regular thing or a one-off ? Any chance of one on the other side of London ?

Can you bring your soldering iron and sort my wiring out ! Then you don`t have to listen to my depressing posts .

Could you have a look ?

Forgot to mention the immobiliser bypass and speedo sender bypass from the old 14cux cool

I will bring my soldering iron Daz........it can have its third ever outing. First time was Alex fixing my mouse damage, second was me bypassing the faulty contact on the heater fan control box. My first ever piece of soldering. silly

Now, what was it you wanted soldiering? shoot

It`s these problems making me think about getting rid and getting something else .

speedo goes wild after 60mph

hot start

Ground offsets on the ECU.

I only get 18mpg on a steady run ,probably because the lambdas are not working .

Daz I am only busting your balls a little cool you don't need Lambda's or closed loop for good MPG as I have said before rolleyes

Nah, it'll be the tolerances on that old Buick. 'Spect the fuel will just be falling past the pistons and down the bores... hehe

Daz you dont need to go mega lean for good MPG I reckon I am getting similar figures to the Lucas even though my low speed fuelling is richer (nicer drive less lurching) on the MS and don't forget my Lucas was working fine so its hard to better by much seeing as the CUX meters fuel pretty well already wink

If you run to weak in certain areas of the map can this cause loss of power when you boot it ? It must have to go buy this area to get in the richer areas on higher load.

No, because soon as you boot it you go straight to another part of both fuel and ign tables almost instantly scratchchin well milliseconds wink

Daz, there becomes a point where you run to lean you make less power, which makes you use more throttle to maintain the same speed,
You with me?

What afr does it become less efficient .

Ok you make it rich at low speeds when in forth gear to stop shunting then when you go into fith gear on cruise at a higherspeed you must be in the same area on the map.

I see 14.7 around 50mph , it slowly gets weaker and at 70mph it is 16.5 to 17afr. .I was thinking can it go weaker than 14.7 from 50mph.

I believe there's an open day coming up. I don't understand how they work either, so why don't we both go and listen and learn, hey? See you there.

Spot on Alex wink although the RV8 gets seriously pissed off at this point and will kangaroo its head off at low speeds laugh

I'm sure Alex remembers mine when the 5 litre engine was new and the map was wrong (as well as other factors). It was running rich at low revs, which was no problem, but above 4500 rpm it went really lean and the power just vanished. Didn't matter how hard you pressed the pedal, the get up and go had got up and gone.

Now it is properly mapped (and has bigger injectors and AFM) its a joy to drive and I get about 21mpg on the road. So not squirting mega ( see what i dd there? laugh ) amounts of fuel in road mode.
