Good Hotel on east coast near Aberdeen + what route?

Hey,

Going for an impromptu road trip this weekend with girlfriend.

Staying near Loch Ness for the first night and then I'm thinking about looping around the Grampians.

Firstly any suggested routes for nice scenery and a few places to visit along the way from Loch Ness through the Grampians towards Aberdeen?

Secondly anyone got any suggestions of where to say near Aberdeen?

I could recommend Meldrum House Hotel as a lovely place to stay. I'd favour a room in the stable block over the main house personally plus the Resteraunt is good. Alternatively you could go along to Eat on the Green for Dinner which is relatively close by and even better for food.

Having said all that, good chance it will be fully booked if there is a wedding on which there often is.
