Mini Clubvan - will I regret it?
Discussion
Coming from a BMW 320d as a company car, for my next one the Mini Clubvan ticks lots of boxes. I save £400 per month in tax as its a commercial vehicle, so thats £4800 in my back pocket each year. Its economical and relatively cheap to buy.
But - I commute 110 miles per day, will it be comfortable enough and it only has two seats - I have one 3ry old child and one on the way. (I have looked into putting rear seats back in but its not allowed) So what happens if I need to pick up the kids on the way home and I only have a 2 seater, will I regret the choice?
My G/F will need an upgraded car anyway which will cost £200 per month (assuming I take out a small loan over 3 years) so it could be the big car for family use.
The other option is a Skoda Octavia Estate for me, that will save me £165 per month on tax over the BMW and I could spend that on a smaller G/F's car. But - this means I don't have extra cash to spend on fun car !
Any advice or suggestions, I can have any company car I want within reason but I am trying to not waste money on the taxman?

Doesn't it depend if anyone, anywhere will ever want to buy it used and the depreciation on it?
Its a good point, I was going to buy a second hand one - ex demo. £14k ex VAT (list 18k). The skoda would be on lease and that would cost £4k per year, so I can afford for the Mini to depreciate £4k per year.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
