UNF = Unified Fine
UNC = Unified Course
BSF = British Standard Fine

Can't remeber completeley but UNF and UNC are imperial Fine and Coarse respectively I think. It refers to the number threads per inch. The UN is I think UNified and was used up to the adoption of the metric system for nuts and bolts. These are the ones that need the standard imperial spanners and sockets (1/2", 3/4" etc)

BSF is British Standad Fine and is used on much older cars you shouldn't find these on a TVR.

There's a bit of info here

www.namrick.co.uk/boltspec.asp

and here

www.enginehistory.org/british_fasteners.htm

I've come across both UNF, UNC and Metric on my S but mostly it is metric.

Good Cheers

Been out and about in the S...

Hants Meet/Berks Meet/VW etc etc..

Really wondering what to do with the car...

I think the seats have gone soft...
The S isn't giving me the big push in the back much now...

And as my hair is thinning not so much wind going through it..

The idea of a Griff 500 next spring is eating away at me as well as my wallet...

I've now taken off the automatic notification of S's being sold in the classifieds and replaced it with the GRIFFITH

How 'bout you..Not seen you about much..?

Dave

Not been able to get to the meets as I've been on the DIY trail redoing the bathroom in the evenings and weekends.

My thoughts have been turning towards a replacement for the S in the New Year too and a Griff is top of my list. Depends how things pan out in the New Year share options etc. Although I really ought to invest the money in a conservatory. Let me see Griff or a conservatory........

GRIFFITH
