Advice!! Porsche 911 996

My dad owns a 98 996 911 in Pastel Yellow and someone came along and keyed the car along the side, so it is currently in progress of being stripped down by a reccomended spray shop and repainted, my dad is on holiday at the moment but i went today and the bloke said he cant get the windows out becasue the seals always break and they cost £400 to replace.
is this right that the seals always break from the windows becasue im not sure if hes just trying to blag me off.
If so does anyone now anywhere cheaper to get these seals?

Typical i told him about it when i spoke to him and he said that he doesnt fancy paying £400 on window seals. Doesnt really want them cheap becasue obv you never now what they like and the car it is, i think he is either going to have to pay the £400 or forgot them

t).. don't think they are available anywhere else other OPC new ? Something to do with the colour he advised to get the whole car sprayed to be on the safe side? :S god nows, aprently hes got a tool to lift the rubber up slightly. Should have it solved soon will put pics of finished project on!

I had a few local paint bits done on my pastel yellow C4S. It was done by 911bodydhop in Wembley and looked great. Both bumpers and one sill and they blended it in very well indeed

That's where the skill lies, in mixing up the correct colour despite any fading etc to match up to the existing. If he's not going to get it right, it will still show where he blends in on the C pillar.

Paint the whole car because of a keying down the side........ That is definately being safe at the expense of your wallet! Lol
The car was keyed from one side of car to the other on both sides deep as you could do and as big as you gunna get it looked terrible :/ Paint the whole car because of a keying down the side........ That is definately being safe at the expense of your wallet! Lol
