Buying early 996 advice

Looked at a 1999 cabby today. 3 owner, black/savannah, they have owned it 9 years, 43k.
OPC and Northways serviced. However, due to low miles it has a patchy service schedule. Just done now at 43k miles, previously in 2010 at 40k. Total 6 services in its life.
No history of any big ticket items being done. Rear screen needs replacing (milky with age)
They do seem to be asking top money for a private sale, I assume based on the low miles. It seems the classic "we've hardly driven it this year, no need to get it serviced yet" senario.
My head says there could be big bills looming. Am I worrying without reason?

It's the first example I've seen, and I will view others before committing.

Any thoughts ?

Your right, you should be worried. The car should have had 13/14 stamps by now as they were yearly on early 996's.

If you cant find evidence of things being done then it probably hasnt.

These do not like being garage queens. Oil needs changing every year to avoid common 996 engine problems.

I would look at some more as you say.

Yes but it's low mileage and low owners, which trumps everything else, right?

Yeah, could end up being very problematic if it's not used. It's expensive enough if you use 'em! (just spent 3.5k on nothing really special...)
