Not a very exciting or informative post but just had to share - after 8 years I finally found time to chase down the leaks and following some heavy rain over the last few days she's dry as a bone inside.

After sealing up what I though were all the right things the final leak that I couldnt seem to find turned out to be the rivets holding the VIN plate on!

SO no more leaks at the front, and a new hood has solved the leaks at the back, I can now crack on with getting the new dash and carpets :-)

If you've addressed a few, might be helpful to post up what they were all due to - selfish interest as I still get a soggy drivers footwell in real downpours!

Seeing as this affects most of us (if not all), a list would be ideal, maybe even as a wiki thing?

If its the drivers footwell it will be coming from here.

After extensive use of sikaflex this is where the water was getting in on mine:

1 Clutch cover as shown by Daz above (even if it looks sealed if you haven't done it yourself it could be leaking)
2 Brake master cylinder reservoir
3 Brake reservoir electrical connector

Other contenders:

4 Rivets on VIN plate (easily visible if you lie on your back in the footwell)
5 Door seal (there should be a "cut out" section just at the front of the sill, if not water can trickle down the inside of the sill and soak the carpet)
6 Vacuum pipes from plenum to brake servo and throttle cable
7 Poorly fitting roof

Mine is now as tight as a nuclear sub!

It was leaking through every possible place. Worst was the brake reservoir with the clutch reservoir a close second. Next time I get under the bonnet I'll grab a pic and post it up with all the areas highlighted.

Its not pretty as I was so fed up I used a significant quantity of sikaflex but it stopped the leaks.

The other place I was getting leakage was around the screen wash pipes. The rubber grommets were knackered and water was running in through the gap.
