Sprint wins car club mag of the year 04

I know I speak for the whole Team when I say that we are grateful for the congratulations as well as the award itself. It is difficult to know whether the magazine is good or not and it is a relief when independant people pat us on the back.
As TT Tim says;
the fact that the magazine is so attractive is entirely down to Jon of Online Design although, if the content was crap, then we still would not have won. It is a Team production and the fact that we have a Club member who is a professional on the production side is a real bonus. Take David Lord, of dailysportscar.com, whose superb pictures are a feature, plus the Club amateurs who give up their time to take umpteen pictures only for me to use one.
Thanks to all those who send in copy of their TVR experiences.
The support the Editorial Team gets from the Committee goes a long way in allowing us to cover so much and in depth. Dealers give up their time, and in certain cases their cars as well, and racing teams allow us to clutter up their pits, so the magazine should be good.
I tell you what, though, I was really chuffed when I heard we had won the award. If you wanted any favours, then yesterday was a good time to ask. If you phone now I'm just smug.

Sorry Derek, wasn't meaning to take anything away from you and the editorial team.
The TSSC mag won this award a couple of years back, and as you say it's a team effort in order to produce any kind of publication each and every month let alone a 70 page full colour one. Congratulations to all concerned.

Balls! No, my comment was turned around. Nowhere do I say that it won purely on design, but it does play a very large part in it, you could put 70 pages together on your home PC using word with all the photos included and you wouldn't win. That was the point I was making. It takes editorail content AND design to make a winner.
